Call for Submissions!
A couple of HSWN members are putting together a zine titled “Work a Day in my Shoes” which profiles different health work with the aim of sharing knowledge of the varied work we do and strengthen solidarity across the health care sector. We welcome submissions from all healthcare workers, paid and unpaid, that tell a story of your experiences to give a sense of what it is like to work a day in your shoes. This can be in whatever form you would like to use to express yourself: prose, poetry, art, comic, multimedia etc.
Feel free to be creative in how you tell your story, and if you would like some ideas here are some possible prompts to get you thinking. What do you do on a day at work, and what would happen if you didn’t turn up to work? What are some of the things you enjoy about your job, and what are the challenges you face? Do you interact with other health workers and how do you see them contribute to your workplace and our healthcare system?
Please send your piece to us. You can email us on hsworkersnetwork@gmail.com or message us on Facebook. For more information on the project and how you can be involved click here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1VB6f040PHE7D4is6QKaTYKabEU4fKGZczlSjuDH-RL8/edit?usp=sharing
